Devotional:

Recovery is not just a hopeful wish—it’s part of God’s divine design! No matter how far we may feel from healing or restoration, the truth is that God has already made a way for us! As Dr. Apostle Suzanne Howard wisely stated, "God has built recovery into the system." This statement beautifully echoes the heart of God, who desires to see His people restored and made whole!

Scripture Focus:

"He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name." (Psalm 23:3 NLT)

A Biblical Perspective on Recovery:

Believer, Jesus came not for those who consider themselves righteous, but for those who acknowledge their need for healing and restoration. He said, "Healthy people don't need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who THINK they are righteous, but those who KNOW they are sinners and need to repent." (Luke 5:31-32, NLT)

Reflective Thought:

Do you THINK you need help, or do you KNOW you need help? Acknowledging your brokenness is the first step to experiencing God’s healing touch. True recovery begins when we recognize our need for divine intervention and willingly surrender to God’s plan.

There was a time, not long ago, when I found myself on the verge of a mental breakdown. Looking back, I can now clearly see the major stressors that had built up in my life. My blood pressure had increased, and I was experiencing mental fog and fatigue. I would often find myself wandering—driving without remembering how I arrived at my destination. My sleep was broken, filled with nightmares, and I dealt with persistent physical pain and stomach issues. The pressures of ministry and family life had reached a breaking point, and with the help of my senior leader, I KNEW I needed deliverance, healing, and rest.

During that season, Psalm 23:3 became an anchor for me: "He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake." And those paths led to healing the whole me!

A Time for Reflection:

Take a moment to consider: Are there areas in your life where you THINK you are okay but actually KNOW you need healing? Pray for God’s guidance to reveal the truth to your heart.

A Prayer for Recovery:

Lord, thank You for building recovery into Your divine system. Help me to recognize when I am in need of healing and give me the courage to come before You with honesty and humility. Renew my strength and guide me on the path to wholeness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Final Encouragement:

Believer, God has not abandoned you! Even when life feels broken and hopeless, remember that God has built recovery into His plan! Trust in His guidance and take each step forward, knowing that healing and restoration are not just possibilities—they are promises!

Be blessed.
