Heal Anyway

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”

-Colossians 3:13 (NLT)

Life has a way of leaving us with scars. We endure hurt, pain, heartache, brokenness, disappointments, betrayal, and even abuse of different kinds. And sometimes, the apology never comes. The closure we long for doesn’t appear. Yet, in the middle of all this, God calls us to something radical: To heal anyway.

Healing does not mean excusing the trauma, minimizing the hurt, or pretending it never happened. It means making the courageous decision to allow God to restore us while we release the offender into His hands. Forgiveness is never about saying, “What you did was okay.” Instead, it’s about declaring, “I will not let what you did keep me in chains!”

The Word reminds us:

·       “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 NIV)

When your heart feels shattered, God Himself is the One who gathers the pieces and makes you whole again.

·       “Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, ‘I will take revenge; I will pay them back,’ says the Lord.” (Romans 12:19 NLT)

You don’t have to seek payback. God will deal with every injustice perfectly and in His time.

·       “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 30:17 NIV)

Your healing is God’s promise. It is His will for you to be restored and made whole!

So, push, press, and plow forward; not because the pain wasn’t real, but because your healing is too important to be delayed. Don’t let bitterness poison your spirit or rob you of the joy God intends for your life. Heal anyway… so you can live life to the fullest again.

Reflection Questions

1.      What pain, betrayal, or disappointment have I struggled to release to God?

2.      How does remembering God’s forgiveness toward me help me extend forgiveness to others?

3.      What steps can I take this week to lean into God’s healing power rather than holding onto bitterness?

A Charge to Action

This week, make the choice to release one hurt into God’s hands. Speak it out in prayer: “Lord, I give You this pain and this person. I trust You with the justice, and I choose to step into healing.”

Healing doesn’t happen all at once, but begins the moment you choose to surrender.

Closing Prayer

Father, I thank You for being the Healer of my heart and the Restorer of my soul. You see every wound I carry and every scar I try to hide. Lord, I surrender my hurt to You today. I release those who have wronged me into Your hands and ask that You heal me in the deepest places of my soul. Give me the strength to forgive, the courage to move forward, and the faith to trust that You will deal with every injustice. I declare that with Your help, I will live healed, live in Your peace, and walk in the fullness of life You have promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Stay encouraged and be blessed.
