Healed, Delivered, Set Free

By Dee Davis | Divine Inspirations

Scripture Focus:

Mark 5:2–20 & Luke 8:26–39

When Jesus stepped ashore in the region of the Gerasenes, He was immediately met by a man in torment—possessed by demons, living among the tombs, isolated and out of control. No chain could hold him. No person could help him. But when Jesus showed up, everything changed!

With just a word, Jesus spoke, casting out the legion of demons and restoring the man completely! The same man who once terrified the region was now sitting at Jesus’ feet—healed, delivered, and set free!

This remarkable encounter reveals that there is no situation too dark, no bondage too strong, and no soul too lost for the saving power of Jesus. Where others had given up on this man, Jesus stepped in and did what only He could do!

Jesus is Still Delivering Today

This story is more than a historical account—it’s a divine reminder that Jesus still delivers today! Whether you're battling emotional wounds, spiritual oppression, addiction, fear, or hopelessness, Jesus wants to meet you right where you are and bring healing to your soul.

Deliverance is not just for the dramatic or extreme—it's for anyone who is tired of living bound. Healing is for those carrying wounds unseen by others. Freedom is for those who feel stuck, no matter the reason.

Jesus isn’t intimidated by your past, your pain, or your present struggles. When you call on Him in faith and surrender, He has the power to heal, deliver, and set you free.

Supporting Scriptures

  • John 8:36 (NLT) – “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.”

  • Psalm 34:17 (NIV) – “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”

  • 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV) – “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Reflection Questions

  1. In what area of your life do you need to experience Jesus’ healing and deliverance?

  2. Have you been trying to manage or hide your pain instead of bringing it to the Lord?

  3. How can you encourage someone else to seek Jesus for their freedom and breakthrough?

Prayer

Lord, I thank You that You are still in the business of healing, delivering, and setting people free. I bring my heart before You today—every hidden pain, every burden, every area of bondage—and I lay it at Your feet. I believe You have the power to break every chain and restore what has been broken. I will trust You, call on You, and walk in the freedom You have already made available to me through Jesus. My life will become a testimony of Your grace and deliverance.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Believer, you don’t have to stay bound. There is healing. There is deliverance. There is freedom in Jesus.

Be blessed
