Devotional

There are moments when being single can make a woman question her worth.

Not because she doesn't love God.

Not because she lacks purpose.

But because we live in a world that often measures a woman's value by who is standing beside her.

And after enough weddings attended, family gatherings navigated, and questions answered with a polite smile, a quiet thought may begin to surface:

"Am I enough?"

"Did I miss God's best?"

"Will I always be alone?"

Yet God never intended for our identity to be found in another person.

He intended it to be found in Him.

Colossians 2:10 reminds us that we are complete through our union with Christ.

Not partially complete.

Not almost complete.

Complete.

Marriage is a blessing, but it is not our identity.

A relationship can enrich your life, but it was never meant to define your life.

Before anyone ever called you wife…

Before anyone called you mother…

Before anyone called you friend…

God called you His daughter.

And that has never changed.

Perhaps you are divorced.

Perhaps you are widowed.

Perhaps you have never married.

Those experiences are part of your story, but they are not your identity.

You are not "less than."

You are not overlooked.

You are not unfinished.

You are loved.

Chosen.

Redeemed.

Known.

And complete in Christ.

Woman of God, don't spend this chapter believing you are waiting for someone else to make you whole.

Jesus never said, "Come to Me after someone loves you."

He simply said, "Come."

And in Him, you already possess everything you need to live a life filled with peace, purpose, and joy.

Because your completeness has never depended on another person.

It has always rested in Christ.

Reflection Question

Am I allowing my relationship status to define me more than my relationship with Christ?

Action Steps

• Thank God that your identity is rooted in Him.

• Refuse labels that contradict what God says about you.

• Spend time meditating on who you are in Christ.

• Celebrate the gifts and opportunities God has placed in your life today.

• Walk confidently as God's beloved daughter.

Prayer

Father, thank You that my worth is not determined by my relationship status but by my relationship with You. Forgive me for the times I have measured myself by the wrong standards. Help me to embrace my identity as Your daughter and to live with confidence, joy, and peace. Teach me to see myself the way You see me. Thank You that I am loved, chosen, and complete in Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
