Caution: I Am Under Construction!

By Dee Davis | Divine Inspirations

Scripture Focus: “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” — Philippians 1:6 (NLT)

Life is a journey, filled with lessons and experiences that shape who we are. As I reflect on my own journey, I often find myself wondering why I do the things that I do. Sometimes it feels like I’m making great strides forward, while other times it feels like I’m taking steps back. In those moments, discouragement can set in.

But then, I remember the comforting words of the Apostle Paul. He reminds us that God, who started a good work within us, is faithful to complete it. This truth is not just a reassurance but a promise from God. Despite how I may feel or how circumstances may appear, God is actively working in me.

A Work in Progress

We are all under construction! Psalm 138:8 (NLT) echoes this by saying, “The Lord will work out his plans for my life—for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.” God is not finished with us yet! Each challenge, every mistake, and even our victories are all part of His divine process of transformation.

Sometimes it’s hard to see progress, but just because we don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. God’s plans for us are intentional, and they are woven into every part of our lives. Just as the potter molds the clay, God is shaping us into vessels of honor.

Trusting the Process

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) encourages us to, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Trusting God means believing that He knows what He is doing, even when we don’t understand the process.

So today, let’s embrace the fact that we are under construction. Let’s find comfort in knowing that His plans for our lives are good and that He will bring them to completion. When discouragement creeps in, remind yourself that God is still at work!

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the good work You have begun in me. Help me to trust Your process and lean on Your promises when I feel discouraged. I believe that You will complete the work You have started. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Stay encouraged and be blessed.
