Devotional:

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”— Matthew 7:24 (ESV)

When Jesus spoke these words, He was concluding the Sermon on the Mount. His message was clear: only a life built on Him—the solid rock—will stand firm in the storms of life.

This same truth echoes in the timeless hymn by Edward Mote:

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.”

At the heart of our faith is the cross—the place where Jesus poured out His life so we could live. Everything else fades in comparison. Good intentions, religious routines, worldly success—they all crumble without the foundation of Christ.

Nothing else matters but the sacrifice Jesus made for us. That single act of love and redemption became the cornerstone of our hope. It’s not what we’ve built that matters most—it’s what He built on our behalf. When our hope is anchored in Him, our foundation is unshakable.

Storms may come, but we won’t be moved. The winds of hardship, grief, or temptation may blow, but the Rock holds steady. Because our confidence isn’t in what we’ve done, but in what He has done.

Jesus is not only our Savior—He is our source. Our foundation. Our strength. Our hope. When everything else gives way, He remains.

Nothing else matters—not fame, not fear, not failure—only Jesus and what He accomplished on the cross.

Prayer:

Father God,Thank You for the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ. I place all my trust and hope in His finished work on the cross. Remind me daily that nothing else matters but Your love, Your truth, and Your righteousness. Help me to walk in holiness, rooted in grace, and built on Your Word. May my life be a reflection of my commitment to live for You—fully and faithfully. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declarations of Commitment:

I choose to build my life on the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ.
I declare that nothing else matters but the cross of Christ and His resurrection power in me.
I commit to living holy—not by my strength, but by the Spirit of God working within me.
I will trust in the finished work of Jesus above every other voice, promise, or pressure.

Let this be your anthem today: “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”

Storms may come, but you are held. Winds may blow, but you are grounded. And when the dust settles, you will still be standing—because Jesus is enough, and nothing else matters.
