“Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)
Something is humbling about realizing that your body doesn’t move the way it used to. The same energy that once ran through your limbs now feels interrupted by aches, stiffness, or even fatigue that seems to linger. For many of us, especially those who are caregivers, nurturers, or in ministry, we press through these changes because our hearts are still full of passion and our spirits are still willing. But what do you do when your body starts saying “no” to the very things your soul longs to do?
I want to share something personal with you.
It seems, for me, that, for a long time, I’ve always been caring for someone—whether it was my children, my mother, or more recently, my husband. And there are times at the end of the day when I’m not just tired physically but weary mentally. And it switches—sometimes it’s both physical and mental exhaustion! I’ve noticed the changes in my physical body as I've gotten older. I confess that I haven’t always taken as good care of my body as I should have.
However, I am constantly aware of God's presence in my life. Even though I feel the aches and pains most days, I never forget that when I am weak, God is always stronger!
That’s where the trust comes in—not in your strength or your physical performance, but in the sustaining, unshakable strength of God! He sees every tired moment. He knows when your knees hurt or your back aches. But He also sees the fire in your heart that still burns for purpose, for love, and for Him!
Romans 8:11 reminds us that “the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” That means He doesn’t only revive our souls—He strengthens us in the physical too, in the ways we need it most!
So, to every woman who feels the weight of life pressing against her body’s limits—be encouraged! You’re not alone, and you are not forgotten. The Lord is renewing you daily. His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and His grace is more than enough to carry you through every transition, every ache, and every moment of fatigue.
Let this be your reminder: Your body may change, but God’s power never does! And your spirit, anchored in Him, will always be willing—and victorious.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the constant strength in my ever-changing life. When my body grows tired and my energy fades, You remain faithful, renewing me from the inside out. You see the weight I carry—not just in my arms and back, but in my heart and mind.
For every woman reading this who feels weary, remind her that she is not alone!
Breathe new life into tired bones. Bring peace to restless thoughts. Help us to care for the temples You’ve given us while leaning fully into the grace You so freely provide. We will continue to trust in You, and grow deeper even when our steps grow slower. May our spirits stay willing, our hearts stay tender, and our lives remain surrendered to Your perfect will.
Thank You for being our strength when we are weak, and our joy in the midst of weariness. We rest in the truth that You are always renewing us—day by day.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Stay encouraged and be blessed!
