Scripture Focus: Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Have you ever looked around and wondered, "What am I supposed to be doing now?" Maybe your children are grown, your career has slowed—or even ended—and the ministry opportunities that once energized you feel distant. You love God. You’ve walked with Him for years. But lately, life feels quieter... maybe too quiet!
If you’re a woman 50 and over, and find yourself questioning your purpose, know this: you are not forgotten, and your time is not over!
You Are Still His Masterpiece
Ephesians 2:10 doesn’t come with an expiration date. It doesn’t say, “You were God’s masterpiece... until you hit retirement age” or “He had plans for you... but now it’s someone else’s turn.” No—God calls you His masterpiece now, in this very season!
You are still a vessel shaped by the hands of the Creator, crafted uniquely with wisdom, experiences, and strength that only time can produce; and that is the very wisdom so desperately needed by the generations coming behind you!
Purpose Doesn’t Retire — It Evolves
It’s easy to associate purpose with productivity—leading ministries, raising children, being someone's spouse, organizing events, or building a career. But as life shifts, your purpose does too, along with new dynamics evolving! Not because it diminishes, but because God is expanding it in ways you may not yet see.
Your voice, your prayers, your testimony, your presence—all of these still carry weight and influence! You may not be leading on platforms or traveling like you once did, but your spiritual authority has not been reduced! In fact, your legacy just may be beginning to bloom!
You Are a Bridge for the Next Generation
Younger women coming up behind you are searching for more than social media influencers or trendsetters. They are craving mentors, truth-tellers, a type of mothering—women who have weathered life’s storms and still stand strong in their faith. Titus 2:3-5 instructs older women to teach and mentor younger women in the faith, modeling godly character and providing practical guidance for Christian living.
You don’t have to have all the answers. You just need to be willing! Willing to pour. Willing to speak the truth, to listen, and to share what God has done in your life! There is power in your story, and someone needs to hear it!
It’s Not Too Late
The enemy loves to whisper that your best days are behind you, but God says otherwise:
“I will still be carrying you when you are old. Your hair will turn gray, and I will still carry you. I made you, and I will carry you to safety.” (Isaiah 46:4, ERV)
“They will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green.” (Psalm 92:14, NIV)
The truth is, you have much to give. You’ve lived, learned, loved, lost, and led. That’s the kind of woman who can help another find her way.
A Personal Reflection
Today, take a moment to ask God,
“What good things have you prepared for me in this season?”
Maybe it’s mentoring. Perhaps it’s starting that book or prayer group. Maybe it’s finally resting in Him and letting your presence be the ministry. Whatever it is, lean in! God still has plans for you, and they're good.
Prayer
Father, thank You that my value is not tied to a title, a task, or a timeline. Remind me daily that I am still Your masterpiece, created with purpose and filled with promise, so that I may walk boldly in this season, rediscovering my 'why' in You. Use me, Lord, for Your glory—even now. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Stay encouraged and be blessed!
