Focus Scripture: 1 Kings 19:5–8
Before Elijah could receive instruction, God addressed his exhaustion. Twice the angel said:
“Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.”
Elijah didn’t need a sermon—he needed sleep. He needed nourishment. He needed space to breathe. This moment is God’s gentle reminder that our physical bodies matter to Him. Ministry is important, but so is rest. Purpose is essential, but so is nourishment.
As women who pour out continually—to marriage, family, ministry, work—it becomes easy to ignore the limits of our humanity. But God doesn’t. He cares for the whole woman.
This passage shows us that rest is not weakness. Rest is worship.
Rest is obedience.
Reflection Question:
Where is God inviting you to slow down so He can strengthen you again?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for caring about my body and my limits. Teach me to rest before I break. Restore my strength so I can serve with joy. Amen.
Stay encouraged and be blessed!
