Scripture Passage: 2 Peter 1:1-11
Focus verse: 2 Peter 1:3 (NLT) – “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life…”
As women of faith navigating time-tested years, we often find ourselves reflecting on what was, wondering about what’s to come, and sometimes questioning what we have left to give. Life has been full — of living, love, lessons, loss, and letting go. There have been victories we’ve celebrated and valleys we’ve silently walked through. And now, as the pace of life shifts, a subtle whisper may try to convince us that our usefulness in the kingdom has faded.
But that is a lie!
The truth is found in 2 Peter 1:3: “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life.” Everything! Not some things. Not just enough to get by. Not just when we were younger, stronger, or more active in ministry. But everything — right now — to live a life that reflects His love, His wisdom, and His power!
At this stage of life, we are not lacking — we are equipped!
God’s divine power doesn’t wear out with age, and neither does His calling on your life. The wisdom you’ve gained, the faith that’s been tested and proven, the prayers you’ve prayed in secret — these are not remnants of a past season. They are tools in the hands of a mature daughter of God.
Peter reminds us that through knowing Christ, we receive “great and precious promises” (v.4) that enable us to escape the world’s corruption and participate in God’s divine nature. That means every single day we wake up is another day to grow in the qualities listed in verses 5–7: faith, moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, patient endurance, godliness, brotherly affection, and love.
And when we grow in these things, we don’t become obsolete — we become productive and useful in our knowledge of Jesus (v.8).
So, if you've ever asked, “Lord, do I still matter?”
His answer is clear: “Yes, My daughter. I have given you everything you need to keep walking, serving, loving, and living a life that brings Me glory.”
You are not behind.
You are not forgotten.
You are not finished.
You already have what you need!
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that Your power is still at work in me. I am not lacking — I am fully equipped to live a godly life that honors You. Help me walk in confidence and boldness, knowing that You’ve already given me everything I need. May I use what You’ve entrusted to me to bless others, build up Your kingdom, and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Stay encouraged and blessed!
