Focus scripture:
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Devotional
There comes a time in many women’s lives where the mirror feels unfamiliar.
Not just the physical mirror—but the mirror of life itself.
You look around and realize things have changed. Your body may not move the same. Your energy may shift from day to day. Relationships have evolved. Some people walked away. Some opportunities passed. Some dreams were delayed. And somewhere in the middle of all those changes, a quiet question can begin to whisper:
“Do I still matter?”
For many women over 50, the struggle is not always loud. Sometimes it sounds like silent comparison, hidden grief, loss of motivation, or feeling overlooked. Sometimes it is the ache of rejection, the pain of transition, or the weight of responsibilities that slowly convinced you to think less of yourself.
The enemy has a way of using life experiences to distort identity.
He whispers lies like:
You are not enough.
You missed your moment.
You are invisible now.
You are too broken.
Too old.
Too damaged.
Too far behind.
But Ephesians 2:10 reminds us of something powerful:
You are still God’s workmanship.
Not discarded.
Not forgotten.
Not overlooked.
The word “workmanship” in this verse speaks of something intentionally crafted by the hands of a Creator. Some translations even use the word masterpiece.
A masterpiece is not rushed.
It is formed carefully, intentionally, and with great value.
That means your personality, your strength, your compassion, your wisdom, your testimony, even the lessons learned through pain—none of it is accidental.
God created you with purpose long before rejection tried to rename you.
He created you in His image.
He placed gifts inside of you.
He gave you a voice, wisdom, discernment, and influence.
And although life may have wounded parts of your confidence, it did not erase your God-given value.
Sometimes women spend years focusing on what they lost instead of remembering what still remains.
Yes, some things changed.
Yes, some chapters closed.
Yes, some losses deeply hurt.
But your purpose did not expire because life became difficult.
God still sees beauty where you see brokenness.
He still sees potential where you see limitation.
He still sees purpose where you see delay.
And maybe the greatest healing in this season is not becoming who you used to be…
…but finally embracing who God says you are now.
Supporting Scriptures
Genesis 1:27 (NLT)
“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
Psalm 139:14 (NLT)
“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.”
Reflection Question
What lie about yourself have you quietly believed that God may be asking you to release in this season?
Prayer
Father, thank You for reminding me that I am still Your workmanship. When life, rejection, loss, or change tries to redefine me, help me remember what You have spoken over my life. Heal the places where insecurity, disappointment, and comparison have taken root. Teach me to see myself through Your eyes instead of through the lens of pain. Restore my confidence, renew my joy, and awaken purpose within me again. Thank You that my value is not determined by age, appearance, status, or past mistakes, but by the fact that I belong to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Final Encouragement
Woman of God, you are not “less than” because life looks different now.
You are still growing.
Still becoming.
Still valuable.
Still chosen.
And the God who created you has not abandoned the work of His hands.
Stay encouraged and be blessed.
