Focus Scripture:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
Devotional Thought:
Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s the decision to move forward in faith despite it. When God called Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, it was no small task. There were battles ahead, unknown territories, and people depending on his leadership. Yet, God didn’t just suggest courage—He commanded it. Why? Because God’s presence guaranteed victory!
There are moments in our lives when fear whispers louder than faith. Whether it’s stepping into a new role, confronting a difficult relationship, or standing up for what is right, fear tries to paralyze us. But God’s Word tells us we don’t have to walk alone. The same God who promised to be with Joshua is with you now.
God’s presence is your assurance! His power is your strength! His promises are your confidence! You don’t need to wait until you feel brave to act boldly! Obey His call, trust His presence, and you’ll find courage rising within you.
Reflection Questions:
What situation in your life right now is calling for courage?
How can you shift your focus from fear to faith in God’s presence?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the reminder that I never walk alone. I will trust Your presence more than I fear the unknown. Fill me with courage—not in my own strength, but in Yours. According to Deuteronomy 31:8, I choose to be strong and courageous, knowing You go before me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Closing Encouragement:
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT
Courage is not something you have to manufacture—it’s something you receive and grow when you stay connected to God. Let His Word fill you, let His promises lead you, and let His Spirit strengthen you. Be strong. Be courageous. He is with you!
Stay encouraged and be blessed!
